Hi! Does LakeFS support an automatic retention policy for branches? For example, does LakeFS support creating a policy where a branch with a specific prefix with no new commits after a certain number of days is deleted? I saw that there is an object retention policy, but am not sure about branch retention. Thanks!

Hi Clinton 👋🏽 I'll take a look into that and will let you know soon!

Thanks! Our use case is that we create short-lived branches and may forget to delete them. I'm hoping that we can configure LakeFS to remove those stale branches for us. 🙂

I see, looks like a useful feature if it doesn't exist already 🙂
As far as I understand, there's no such an option in lakeFS ATM but I want to make sure I'm correct about it so I'll get back to you with a final answer for that. Meanwhile, maybe you can use lakeFS
post_create_branch
hooks in order to achieve this capability.

@Clinton Monk thanks for this! I've opened an issue to track this feature proposal. Feel free to add context and comment on it!
