Hi one question is there any way to copy objects from one repo to another different repo using lakefs_sdk (python)? The method copy_objects throws some errors when I tried it. The unique solution found is downloading the objects to disk then upload them Thanks!

copy_object

throws an error as this operation is meant to copy the object within a certain repo. In order to copy objects from one repo to another you can use import, however this imports from underlying storage to lakefs. therefore this way you will not be able to keep the lakefs's object name. Having a script to download and upload might be the bast option.

Each instance of lakeFS manages its own data, so a copy by download/upload is required. Unless you reference data from one lakeFS from another using 'import' operation. As long as the data exists in the original lakeFS repository the reference from the second lakeFS will work. If this helps, get the object physical address and import it to the second lakeFS instance. make sure that the second lakeFS instance have the credentials to access the data if you plan to read it through lakeFS.
