Hi! Me again. If I want to set up LakeFS on GCP, does the original endpoint (bucket=>user) still work? I want to test LakeFS on our buckets, but without affecting the BI team's current setup until we're ready to make the transition

Hi @Stéphane Burwash! 🙂 Can you please explain what do you mean by original endpoint (bucket=>user)?

Hi @Lynn Rozen, thanks for the reply! Currently our team uses DataStudio connected to GBQ to make dashboards. Our pipeline therefore looks something like this: GCP Bucket => GBQ => DataStudio. I want to introduce LakeFS around our GCP bucket (So GCP Bucket => LakeFS => GBQ => DataStudio) but in the short term I would like to test it a bit on our existing data WITHOUT breaking all of our dashboards.

When you create a new repository in lakeFS, you create it under an empty "folder" on your bucket. It can even be an empty bucket. To operate on your existing data, you will have to import it into lakeFS first. You can read about it here, and I can also instruct you on how to do it. In particular, lakeFS never changes anything in your existing data.

Thank you so much! I'll look into this this afternon and get back to you 😄

Of course! Looking forward to hear if it worked :)
