Hello! I have a suggestion. lakeFS would be fab alongside Blender 3d. When I am working with revision control of artwork, I feel that lakeFS would be superior to using git, but perhaps someone has a better idea? Because Blender has Python scripts. lakeFS has Python support. So basically a Blender plugin would be fab!! Collaborative tools for Blender exist but I don't think they do s3 bucket revision control yet...

Hey @Andrew Potter! interesting idea! does blender support s3 (perhaps as a plugin?) if so there might be a quick win here with the lakeFS S3 Gateway

Hey @Oz Katz I had a look online but did not find one which will do the job as far as I can see.. I am sure it would be fairly simple for me to build a blender plugin to do this however...

that could be really cool! I don’t think I know blender enough to be helpful but in #dev there are quite a few helpful folks that know the lakeFS Python SDK pretty well, i’m sure they’ll be happy to assist 🤩

@Oz Katz would it be fine to name the plugin
blender-lakefs
? And since Blender is GPLv3 the plugins all have to be compatible with the GPLv3 too. Which would be fine by me. I might chip away on that.

Sure no problem with the name (as long as the copyright make it clear it's not a part of lakeFS). The Python SDK is Apache 2.0 licensed which I think should be ok with being included in GPLv3 (by reading https://www.apache.org/licenses/GPL-compatibility.html) - but _I'm not a lawyer_™️ and all that..

Yeah that's perfect. I could even just name it
BlendVersionControl
